The Penn® International® VI series is designed and manufactured in the USA with domestic and imported components. Precision machined from high-strength, lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum in our Philadelphia machining center. Our experienced crew has been designing and producing durable, high-quality reels in this facility since 1932. The VI consists of a large stainless steel gear train for strength and speed, and a Dura-Drag system which results in a smoother start up and virtually eliminates hesitation, even under extreme drag settings.

The Penn® International® 50VISW 2-Speed Lever Drag Reel is the professional tournament angler’s dream reel. Finally, a reel that can handle the stress of true giants that doesn’t weigh as much as an automobile. The Penn® International® 50VISW, like the other reels in the VISW family, is designed with upgraded internals that can handle the stress of fishing with ultra-strong braided lines – The 50VISW will handle 880 yards of 50lb test. Target world record class black and blue marlin, swordfish, giant yellowfin and bigeye tuna, the biggest makos, threshers, and hammerheads, as well as goliath grouper. The Penn® International® 50VISW pumps out 45lb of drag and has an open face so level winding when fighting a giant becomes much easier. Used primarily for trolling, the Penn® International® 50VISW has a ratcheted drag lever that won’t accidentally loosen while on the troll, as well as Penn’s DuraDrag washers that will remain smooth and fluid while being ferociously burned by a giant tuna’s blistering runs.
