The Tanacom 500 and 750 models are much smaller than typical electric reels, which opens up new avenues in how electric reels are utilized. These reels can be fished in the hand rather than in a rod holder, due to their reduced size and weight. The Tanacom 1200 has familiar features of the Tanacom line, such as the oversized line guide aperture, line counter, and variable speed, but the major change with the Tanacom 1200 is the internalization of the motor and gearing within the spool, giving it a more sleek design. The central placement of the motor and gearing really helped to give the Tanacom 1200 more power and speed, boasting a 30 percent faster retrieval rate and 20 percent more power. The variable speed motor can now also be controlled with just a single finger without having to take your hand off the rod.
